Sat 01/29/2011

OK...today was weigh in day.  The moment of truth...262 lbs.  I have lost another 2 pounds this week so I am right on schedule.  I am pretty much sticking to the calories I'm allowed daily and working out 4 days a week.  Happy day, Happy day!!!

Friday 01/28/2011

Today I did go to the gym but the workout was not as good as it could have been.  I really hurt my knee on Wednesdays workout.  I think the incline did me in.  I am determined to keep going though.  I walked for over a mile on 2.5 (i know not very fast)  I wore my brace and then iced it on my way to work.  i am going to take it easy on the knee but I'm not quitting!!!  I did do 90lbs on the ab machine for 5 sets of 20.  Lester thinks I need to increase my weight.  I might try it next Monday when I get back to the gym.  So overall not a bad week.  I had some triumphs and some problems but I going to keep pushing through.  I can do this and I will be successful in making my life a healthy one.

Working Out

Well today it was up @ 4AM with Les to hit the gym.  I have started doing a program on the treadmill P-7 for weight loss and I chose to do it on level 3.  I can't keep up.  I am always reducing the speed from 3.7 to 3.5 or even 3.3 when the incline goes up to 4.0.  I am going to keep doing it though because one day I'm not going to have to change the speed.  I will be shouting and jumping up and down on that day.  Keep posted to find out when I conquer the treadmill!!

Birthday Party

OK Saturday I decided to weigh myself to see how I'm doing.  I was excited I lost 4lbs I'm now 264lbs.  I have a long way to go but it is totally doable as long as I stick with the plan.  I did not record my caloro\ies yesterday but am going to go back to it today.  I got to get the sweets out of the house.  The birthday party last night left ice cream, cupcakes and pizza left in the house.  Got to get the temptation out of here.  To the gym tonight or tomorrow to get back on track.

Working out

Monday night Les, Beth and I went to the gym.  Beth and I got on the treadmill and we start walking I'm not killing myself just around 3.0 to 3.4.  This older couple come in and get on the treadmill next to us. They start out and pretty soon they are both going faster than me.  The women is running and the guy is like on 4.0 to 4.5.  I told Beth it's sad but they were kicking our butts.  I'm just really glad that we all got to the gym and worked out.  I feel a little sore but great that I went.  I am not going to weigh myself for until tomorrow then I will let everyone in on where I stand.

Birthday Party

OK so my sister threw her husband a 30th birthday surprise party last night.  I did feel good that I ordered a salad but I know I went overboard on the hummus with pita chips.  They were so great but I am sure had a lot of calories.  I also had 3 Malibu with pineapple juice so I am sure I overindulged.  We had a good time but stayed out late and I did have to work today so I slept in.  I am planing on going to the gym tonight after dinner.  Just trying to stay on track and make this a lifestyle change that I can manage.

Getting started

OK...I have decided to make this a real commitment this time.  I have tried to loose weight all my adult life and have been successful for a short time but I have never been able to keep it off.  I have never told anyone my exact weight from the scale because I of course am very ashamed that I let myself get this way.  So I'm going about this weight loss a totally different way this time.  I have asked my husband for help in keeping my going to the gym regularly.(This is a big step for me)  I am also asking my friends and family that are going to read this blog to also hold me accountable for doing what I say I'm going to do.  I am going to get on the treadmill at home or in the gym for at least 30 min a day 5 days a week.  a am also working some of the machines @ the Snap fitness in J'ville.  So I will be posting my actual weight later on and I will be keeping everyone abreast of my progress.  Thanks for helping me with this journey of a lifetime.
